Agent session notes

.agents/state/<topic>/current.md is the durable handoff note for multi-session work that is not yet merged. <topic> is the work area: a branch name, a short slug, or the nearest thing to a ticket ID this repo has.

.agents/ is gitignored in this repo, so these notes are machine-local by design: they are working context, not shared documentation. Never rely on them in CI, and never store secrets in them — they live outside the repo's review surface on purpose.

Format

Keep current.md under ~30 lines:

Rules

• Read current.md at session start when it exists; update it before ending a session with unfinished work. The file is the handoff, not memory.
• Append a dated checkpoint line before every test cycle or risky change.
• Never store secrets, passwords, tokens, or credentials.
• Delete the topic directory once the work merges; durable learnings belong in docs/, skills, or the PR discussion instead.
